Who better exemplifies being supple and strong, flexible and vibrant than Lilias Folan, the "First Lady of American Yoga". In her middle age Lilias embodies the benefits of a regular yoga practice and states unequivocally that Yes!, a mid-aged body can return to graceful fluidity.
Coupled with Lilias' dynamic approach to yoga for the mid-age woman are the gifts and talents of Marti Glenn. Through play, dance, song and story Marti weaves the fabric of safety and self-discovery, offering a remarkable opportunity to re-connect with ourselves and with each other. Lilias and Marti welcome all women. This retreat has been especially meaningful to sisters, close friends, mothers and daughters.
Marti Glenn, Ph.D., is founding president of the Santa Barbara Graduate Institute, offering the first graduate degrees in Somatic Psychology and Pre- and Perinatal Psychology. She is a psychotherapist in private practice, a weaver of story and song, and a guide to women in times of transition.
Lilias Folan's groundbreaking yoga series, Lilias!, is back on PBS throughout the USA. She's featured in the new Barnes and Noble book, American Yoga, as one of 24 master yoga teachers who have made a contribution to yoga in America. She has shown continual dedication to making yoga accessible to the American public through her books, audio tapes and videos. Watch for Lilias' new book, Lilias!
